Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, musician “Matthew R. McCarrin” has performed around the world, from France to Japan, as a composer, producer and pianist. His studies at the School for Creative and Performing Arts with Philadelphia’s legendary Trumpeter, Composer, Kevin Rodgers led to an early career as a performer/composer.
Matt performed, as the leader of the band “United Forces,” and with acts like Knoel Scott (Saxophone), and Lucman Ali (drums), members of the Sun Rah Arkestra that indulged his early career as a bandleader. He also performed with Devon Evans (percussion) and (Earl “Chinna” Smith) from “The Wailers,” and as a result ended up in New York City attending the Master Classes of Barry Harris.
In 2001, Fivestar Production recording company from Philadelphia International Records, engaged McCarrin by contract to write perform and produce records among legends Leon Huff, Kenny Gamble and Bunny Sigler. He also worked with producers Chad Wes Hamilton and Kanye West. McCarrin composed and produced a featured hit on Disney’s Like Mike movie sound track. Lil Bow Wow and Jermaine Dupree contributed to McCarrin’s track.
McCarrin founded “LNVMusic.” a BMI registered company. After his previous production contract ended he opened this publishing and music entertainment company. He then wrote, produced and performed Multi-instruments on the song “I Finally Got the Nerve,” a key single on the Legendary Soul Diva Patti Labelle’s “Timeless Journey” CD.
Allen Iverson engaged McCarrin as creative musical director and producer of artist, Ty Gracey, from Allen Iverson’s Hip Hop venture “Cruthik.”
McCarrin worked with Judgment and Ruff House who created acts like Cypress Hill and Lauren Hill in addition to other major artists. McCarrin also worked at Bon Jovi’s Studio in New York as the lead producer on projects working alongside Kanye West, DJ Clue and Duro. He received praise for his work from Rap Artist and then Roc-A-Fella Records Executive Jay-Z.
McCarrin met with Atlantic Records VP Michael Caren and Manager of Kanye Wes, Lil Wanye, and Drake – now interscope President Gerald “Gee” Roberson who were impressed with his compositions. He frequented Def Jam, Jay Records, Jive Records, and Atlantic Records, building relationships with the industries A & R s and making a name for him as the next up and coming music producer, pianist and composer.

With aspirations to do more than music record production and exhibit his composition abilities to the world McCarrin entered into film scoring with his first contract to do a movie score in 2006 for the movie Bloom, produced by Andrew Francis Renzi starring Emmy award winning Rhea Perlman, and Peter Greene.

Altogether, McCarrin has earned three Platinum plaques, and one Gold plaque for over 5,000,000 copies sold of his commercial work, and a Grammy nomination for his work on “Timeless Journey,”
McCarrin co-founded one of Philadelphia’s fastest growing Independent Record Labels, “Endyo Records,” along side Recording Engineer and Producer partner Roscoe Murphy signing seven singers to the label and completing their albums.

McCarrin and Murphy headed a label in Philadelphia with 7 independent Artists. Recently which they have extended to an international music licensing business for Film and TV. Additionally a mixing, mastering and production service hub with offices in LA, Philadelphia, and New York City.

Live Performance Contracts
For many Years, McCarrin was known as a lead show producer and Music Entertainment contractor for Caesars Entertainment. Managing exclusively the Lounge In Harrah’s Philadelphia “The Cove” he was able to perform with all of the Leading Artist Talents in Philadelphia many of which have also moved on to the international stage. To name some acts that performed at Harrahs Philadelphia Alexa Barchinni, Alita Moses, Lee Mo and many More. Additionally McCarrin was asked to do contracts in the Atlantic City circuit including The Miss America Pageants, Legends in Concert, and many more.

Signings and Community
On October 8th of 2010, McCarrin signed Artist Tropakana to a production deal,Tropakana was considered by New Jersey State assembly men Nelson Albano and Matthew Milam to be a member of the community that was setting a good example for others by actively speaking out against violence bullying and other aspects of negativity seeming to flourish among many youth associated with the aspiring rap industry.The Details are featured in this news paper article.

McCarrin is perhaps most known for his aggressive efforts in the community of Philadelphia and New Jersey to make a positive impact with community via music. He headed a number of programs for community music that involved youth, piano, and positive. And gained some reputation for those efforts.
In 2013 McCarrin has completed the Movie score to the Feature Film “Music Be the Music,” A movie starring golden globe Charles S. Dutton about an imaginary Philadelphia music record executive and his spiritual struggle towards enlightenment which may never come until it is too late. “Must Be the Music” has a large cast of stars and co stars ranging from Snoop from HBO “The Wire” to guest artist appearances like Jadakiss, Meek Mills, Black Thought, Young Savage, Mrs. Jade and many others.

McCarrin is now on his 5th feature film Score and working with numerous Film and TV editors world wide from his offices in Los Angeles, California.
McCarrin performed in Japan (TOKYO) and (KANSAI), visited Korea Shanghai China in an eastern tour in the year 2018. On return he performed in 35 US states including Hawaii, and performed also in Montreal Canada, and performances in San Diego, San Francisco, Mexico, Phoenix Arizona, and a range of other places including Miami Florida, New Orleans, Nashville Tennessee and Denver Colorado. On return from Asia, McCarrin performed in the popular Jazz Clubs of New York City while recording his album Jazz Street with Cody Moffett, and Gauvain Gamon.
Currently McCarrin resides in Los Angeles, California and is working on a variety of musical productions World Wide including a new Jazz album with some top West Coast Talents.
